PLANNING
YOUR TRIP TO THE BALLET

First time at the Ballet? We're so happy you're joining us! Learn all about attending a performance here.

KEEP AN EYE ON TIME

  • Double-check your tickets for the date and time of your performance (we’d hate for you to miss it.)
  • Lobby doors open one hour before your performance start time. Grab a snack or drink, or shop at our boutique.
  • Doors to the theater open 30 minutes before your performance start time.
  • If you miss the beginning of the ballet, you may have to watch it on a monitor in the lobby until there’s a suitable break; this can often be at the first intermission.
  • Be sure to allow yourself enough time for traffic, parking, and refreshments.

BEFORE THE SHOW

  • Civic Center Music Hall offers beverages and pre-packaged snacks that you can purchase and enjoy inside the theater. You may also pre-order Small Bites from their special menu, when available (Small Bites are not allowed in the theater).
  • Our Oklahoma City Ballet Boutique offers a variety of gifts – from shirts to stickers and beyond – for you to buy for a family member or friend…or to treat yourself!
  • Behind the Ballet takes place 45 minutes before curtain in the South Lobby of the Civic Center. This pre-show event features lectures from guest artists, hands-on activities, and demonstrations for all ages.

WHERE TO PARK?

Most performances are held at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Street parking is limited, but there are many private lots in the area. Expect to pay $10-$15 cash for downtown parking. Be mindful of traffic, construction, or special events in the area.

For additional parking information, please see click below.

WHAT TO WEAR?

We believe in comfort! No one will blink an eye if you show up to the Ballet in jeans or your office attire, but it’s fun dressing up too. The Ballet is a great place to debut your most enchanting get-up, however, anything goes!

HINT: Whatever outfit you choose, make sure it will be comfortable to sit in for a few hours.

WHEN TO CLAP?

You may not clap in the middle of a symphony or Broadway show, but at Oklahoma City Ballet, you can let yourself go! When dancers pull off spectacular moves (spins, leaps, and lifts), it’s perfectly acceptable to cheer them on to greater heights with storms of applause or shouts of “bravo!” or “brava!”
